The Organizing Committee invites you to submit session abstract proposals for the PCST Symposium «Science communication as a profession: Training, responsibilities and roles», to be held in San Jose, Costa Rica from 28 to 30 September 2016.
The deadline for submission of abstract proposals is 12 April 2016. Proposals will be peer reviewed and feedback to proposers will be provided by 12 May 2016.
This symposium seeks to promote professional development in the communication of science and technology, including a focus on Latin America.
The main objective of the Symposium is to strengthen the communication of science and technology globally through reflection, sharing and alliances, including through vocational education and training and best practice experiences developing the science-society interface.

Target participants for the Symposium include professionals and students of journalism area, scientific management, educators, scholars, scientists, artists, promoters of scientific culture, communicators, including those responsible for communication units of the universities and research centers and other stakeholders in the interface between science and society.

Organized by Distance Learning State University (UNED), CIENTEC Foundation, PCST: the global network for science communication, Latin American and Caribbean Network for the Popularization of Science and Technology RedPOP, The Mexican Society for the Communication of Science and Technology SOMEDICYT, and Ministry of Science, Technology and Telecommunications.

The symposium will be preceded by workshops and meetings and followed by an offer of tours to be announced soon.
